Our subconscious mind is a powerful entity that can process millions of bits of information every second. It is responsible for keeping our hearts beating, regulating our breathing, operating our lymph systems and making our eyes blink, all with immense precision.
It is also our subconscious minds that store all the information that forms our characters. The intention of the subconscious is to protect us, however, occasionally the act of protecting us can in itself serve to limit our potential. This often comes about when we make a premature evaluation of an event which we believe is helping us but in reality is doing no such thing. This can manifest itself in a wide range of problems including, phobias, a lack of confidence, anxiety, addiction, eating disorders and compulsive behaviour.
Hypnotherapy is a highly effective means to creating positive changes to a person's long-standing limiting beliefs, feelings and behaviours. Although people are often consciously aware of their problems they are often unable to change their attitudes because their behaviour is so ingrained in their subconscious. By inducing trance it is possible to tap directly into the subconscious mind as it is more open to suggestion in a relaxed state. By using certain speech patterns and suggestions, the hypnotherapist is able to reframe any limiting behaviours or beliefs a client may have. The client is always aware of what is happening to them and is always in control.
